In a sweeping survey of American popular music of the 1960s and beyond, one group of studio session musicians set the standard for production genius and mass appeal. In the words Debby Harry (BLONDIE), these are “…the real unsung heroes of all those hit records”, and in the words of Brian Wilson (THE BEACH BOYS), “The Wrecking Crew…were the ones with all the spirit and all the know-how”. Celebrate the pros behind the pop with filmmaker Denny Tedesco and original Wrecking Crew member, Don Randi, in attendance for a fundraiser showing for local nonprofit INFINITE MUSIC.

ABOUT THE FILM

The Wrecking Crew is a documentary film produced and directed by Denny Tedesco, son of legendary late Wrecking Crew guitarist Tommy Tedesco. The film tells the story of the unsung musicians that provided the backbeat, the bottom and the swinging melody that drove many of the number one hits of the 1960's. It didn't matter if it was Nat "King" Cole, Frank Sinatra, Nancy Sinatra, The Monkees, The Byrds or The Beach Boys, these dedicated musicians brought the flair and musicianship that made the American "west coast sound" a dominant cultural force around the world. The film is a fun and moving tribute from Denny to his father and to the music, the times and to the secret star-making machine known only as The Wrecking Crew.

Just this year (2026), The Wrecking Crew was named to the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress for its cultural, historic, and aesthetic importance.
